Desert Blue Resort
ARDA 2017 Interior Design Award Winner
Public Areas, Units, Suites and Amenities - Las Vegas, NV
The interior design of this modern vacation/hotel project located in Las Vegas, Nevada was inspired by the spectacular light transformation that occurs in the Las Vegas desert, particularly at sunset. The rustic beauty of the pastel desert goes to sleep, with the lights of the city that define the Las Vegas strip. City lights sparkle and bold blasts of laser light fight for their place amongst the stars in the dark night sky. And a new day on the desert floor starts with another array of nature’s color wheel, this time awakening residents and visitors alike under lavender skies. This natural beauty at the front and back end of the day drove the design team to provide a more tranquil version of this natural play of light over nature.
A custom crystal chandelier at the lobby reflects light over the reception area where large-scale agate stone panels grace the wall behind the front desk and celebrate the beauty of stones and crystals that come from beneath the earth’s most rustic terrains.
This conceptual approach continues throughout the property and into the units where the Presidential suites offer a spacious and modern interior. Standard units introduce a slightly different approach to color by representing the darker tones of the evening sky and utilizing the blue pallet for distinction between the two products.
All units enjoy a spectacular view of the desert, the lights of the world-famous Las Vegas strip, or resort pool setting. There are no bad views from this statuesque curved building.
